Where do I even begin with how amazing this resort in St. Pete beach in Florida was. I’m already trying to get my husband to agree to go back for us to celebrate our anniversary.
TradeWinds Island Grand Resort is such a beautiful place. From the time you arrive the staff is absolutely amazing. They greet you with such delight. The lobby is beautifully decorated. You can enjoy a cup of coffee there at a little coffee shop and deli for your convenience.
As we headed up to our room we saw that Island Grand has a beautiful court yard area with mini golf and a large chess set to play with the family. Our room was on the 6th floor with a breathtaking view of St. Pete beach. I could have stayed in my room forever with that view from the balcony. Everything was super clean and nicely decorated. When you enter there are 2 queen beds, a bathroom, and then the living room with a mini kitchen. There was also a sofa bed which was a plus for us because the kids like to sleep in separate beds at this age, so mom and dad slept in the living room. The balcony had a seating area just for us to enjoy the views.
After settling in to the room. We went down to the beach where we had our own cabana to enjoy for the day. The resort also offers games to play on the beach and they have a 3 story blow up water slide for the family to enjoy.
I decided since it was getting close to lunch time I could get some drinks and an appetizer for us to enjoy on the beach. I went over to the flying bridge restaurant and bar, which is by the pool and beach area. The bartender was awesome. He made us some cocktails that we never tried before and I loved the fact that he asked if we liked sweet or not so sweet drinks. We personally don’t like sweet drinks and he made the perfect cocktail for us to enjoy. The drinks were huge and we also got to keep the cups as a souvenir. To eat I ordered the hummus platter. It was so delicious, and the pita bread fried to perfection. The hummus was top notch, the tzatziki sauce fantastic and the pickled veggies on point. One quick tip… don’t eat on the beach (haha) those seagulls are ready to steal the food. I can’t blame them.
After sitting on the beach the kids wanted to go play in the pool. The resort has 5 swimming pools. We got to enjoy 2 of those.
Later that day we enjoyed dinner at RumFish Grill which is one of the fabulous restaurants on the resort. I’ll write a separate post for that. At the end of the night we decided to go down to the Salty’s Tiki Bar and Beach Lounge. They had live performance which was a lot of fun. Kids got to run on the sand while mom and enjoyed the fire pit and music while meeting a couple of people and chatting (socially distant of course).
I wanted to mention with Covid going on the resort has taken precautions to keep all of its guests safe. They have provided hand sanitizers and ensure mask wearing and social distancing.
Lastly I’m counting down the days when we can return to enjoy more of what the resort has to offer.
