Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort

I have visited New York City a dozen of times but never imagined the beauty that was beyond the city area. I had the pleasure of taking my family up to Lake Placid this past week and “WOW” what an experience that was. We stayed at the beautiful Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort. The resort overlooks Mirror Lake and the Adirondack Mountains.Β  These views are breathtaking. I’m usually a beach girl but you can’t deny the beauty of Mother Nature.

As we arrived to check in the lobby has a huge window overlooking Mirror Lake. Perfect way to be welcomed if you ask me. The staff was super friendly.

Our room was the Lakeside suite which was perfect for us as a family of 4. It had a king sized bed for mom and dad and 2 queen beds for the kids. We also had a fireplace, big screen TV, and a nice sitting area to relax. The rooms are not separate but the room is large and gives everyone enough space to move around. The bathroom had a standup shower (sorry no bathtub). The best part of this room was having our very own private little sitting area outside of our room and the kids had access to the beach, literally feet away with tons of complimentary water toys: rowboats, canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, hydro bikes, stand up paddle board and even sand buckets for the little ones.

In the winter months Mirror Lake becomes an ice rink with tons of fun winter activities from dog sledding to a toboggan chute. These activities of course come with a separate fee but it’s worth it. Golden Arrow also offers a gym and indoor pool.

The entertainment the one night was fire show with some amazing performers, which we all enjoyed. The one thing I would recommend is that the resort should have a calendar showcasing the entertainment for the nights there. We had no idea that there would be a fire show on Friday; until we ran into one of the performers in the garage who told us about it. I think this would be great upon check in to provide some information.

Maybe they could even do a happy hour for guests to meet for an hour on Mirror Lake.Β  This of course is just my opinion and wouldn’t stop me from coming back to visit.

On the premise they have a restaurant called Generations. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner which makes this super convenient for guests stay at the hotel. The food reminds me of a German inspired pub. One of my favorites was the German onion soup with pretzel croutons. I also enjoyed the burrata salad and my Cajun salmon. They also offer some delicious cocktails, wine and beer.

The resort is set in the cutest little town with shops and additional eateries. Golden Arrow is also not far from all of the adventure that we got to experience. From Whiteface Mountain, Ausable Chasm, High Falls Gorge and so much more. I definitely recommend staying at Golden Arrow on your next family vacation or even romantic getaway.
