The 2nd Annual Preakness at the Piazza is guaranteed to be
the highlight of the spring season in Philadelphia! Join the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
on Saturday, May 17 from 5– 10 p.m. at the Piazza at Schmidt’s for a viewing party of the 139th
Last year, Preakness at the Piazza raised $95,000 from just over 800 attendees, and with your
help we plan to double our efforts in fundraising. Says Co-Chair, Geoff Gross, “When my best
friend was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I knew I wanted to do something for him. Along
with the MS Society, we created an event that was a fun, unique and rewarding annual
fundraiser for young people. That’s how Preakness at the Piazza was born.”
Preakness at the Piazza invites young professionals from Philadelphia to dress in their finest
Derby attire for this year’s new fashion contest. Categories include Best Hat, Best Couple, Best
Shoes and Best-Dressed Male and Female. Our special guests judges include Maria Papadakis
(Philly.com), Susie Celek (Skin Palette), Seun Olubodun (Duke and Winston), Natalie Egenolf
(WIP and Phillies Nation TV), and two more surprise special judges to be named soon. Our red
carpet hosts include Gina Gannon (Tango Traffic), Miss Philadelphia 2014 Diamond Edmonds,
and Miss Philadelphia 2013 Francesca Ruscio.
Another anticipated new highlight to this year’s Preakness at the Piazza is Boyds Philadelphia’s
VIP Pre-Party for media and early bird ticketholders. On Wednesday, April 30th from 6 – 8 p.m.,
guests can enjoy complimentary bites and specialty cocktails while mingling with the city’s most
fashionable crowd. Boyds is generously donating a portion of the night’s proceeds to the
National MS Society.
Tickets are on sale now at $75 for General Admission and $100 for VIP, with ticket discounts
offered for couples and groups of two and more. For more information, please visit
