Homemade Beer Bread

I know some of you may have tried the Tastefully simple beer bread, and I will not lie the taste is amazing and super easy to make.  But spending over 5 bucks for a small loaf of bread starts to get expensive when you want something different.  So why not just make it from scratch at home.  It’s super easy as well and saves you some money for your pocket.  The smell of fresh-baked bread in the house is just tempting.

It reminds me of my childhood.  My father was a baker so I would sometimes go to the bakery with him and eat some hot bread right out of the oven bread.  (Tip:  if you don’t want to use beer feel free to use spirit or cola)

3 cups of rising flour

1/3 cup of sugar

12oz bottle or can of beer

3 tablespoons of melted butter

Preheat oven to 350 to 375 degrees.  Butter up or spray a loaf pan.  In a mixing bowl combine the ingredients.  You’re looking for a sticky mixture.  I would recommend using a spatula to pour it into the pan. Pour melted butter on top or you can wait about 5 min before it is done to brush on the butter.  Bake for about 50 to 55 min.  After baking let sit for about 15 minutes before you cut into it ( I know this can be hard to do).  Enjoy with some dip or make a yummy grilled sandwich which I plan on making one later and will share it with you.

  1. What kind of beer do you use? Nothing like hot bread from the oven!

    1. You can use any beer really. I used a Yards beer called Brawler. I think darker beer goes better but you can use a lighter one.
