I wanted to share with you a little something about a very cool non-profit organization that’s called The Food Trust in Philadelphia. They strive on making healthy food available to all. Working with neighborhoods, schools, grocers, farmers etc., they have developed a comprehensive approach that combines nutrition, education and greater availability of affordable, healthy food. Feel free to check out their website for more information on this amazing organization. Its places and hard working people like these that make a difference in our world.
So if you live or are visiting the Philadelphia area on Sunday April 29th, 2012 at 1pm, please stop down for an amazing event that they are holding for their 20th anniversary, Celebrating the opening season of Farmers Market. It is called The Food Trust Pancake Breakfast at 2nd and Lombard Streets. Join the staff, friends, fans, and farmers for a home-style meal, prepared by chefs Mitch and Jennifer Prensky of Supper restaurant and Global Dish Caterers. Enjoy fresh ingredients from local farms, including griddle-cooked pancakes, Spring Hills maple syrup, farm-fresh cream from Natural by Nature, apple-rhubarb compote made with Three Springs Fruit Farm produce and, of course, plenty of Philly Fair Trade Roasters coffee. Proceeds benefit The Food Trust’s farmers’ markets, and their work to bring nutritious food to all Philadelphia families.
