Every now and then we get cravings for fast food. Maybe we find ourselves hiding in parking lots or locked in our rooms; as we chow down on the juicy fast food chicken sandwich. But did you ever stop and think of how easy it is to make a fast food Sandwich at home, and have it be healthier? Yesterday I made a Chicken Club Wrap. Instead of burger rolls I used a Flax wrap, with chicken breast coated in light whole wheat flour. It was lightly fried, topped with Gouda cheese, guacomole, bacon, lettuce, tomato and purple onions. Save the calories for the dessert, and make it a healthy, yet mouthwatering meal.
Whats your favorite kind of burger or sandwich?
That wrap sounds awesome! I put homemade spins on lots of our restaurant favorites but one of my Go-To’s is my Cheddar Burger with Caramelized Onions, Bacon and Sauce that would put a Big Mac to shame (Yes, I admit, I suffer from Mac Attacks on occassion). It may not be “healthier” but it’s homemade and that’s got to count for something. 🙂
Well, a fine, simple lobster roll, with just mayo and chopped celery on a bun, is a marvelous thing to eat.
Saving the calories for dessert . . . great thought!
I’m going to have to try this! It looks like a great Saturday afternoon meal. Hey! …….. It’s Saturday!
I’m from the UK and one of my favourite hot sandwiches is a fish finger sandwich. Really good in thick white bread, with ketchup and maybe some melted cheddar cheese.
Yummy! I’ll try this! We don’t have store-bought guacamole here though so i think I need to find a homemade recipe somewhere… We have plenty of avocadoes here in the Philippines!!!
Homemade guacamole is simple…take 2 avaocadoes (after peeled put in bowl and squeeze some lemon juice on it so it doesnt brown), purple onion diced (if you like onions), garlic diced tiny (opional as well), salt and pepper to taste, roasted red peppers, and a little sour cream, some cilantro gives it a fresh taste too, mix and enjoy =)
This looks absolutely amazing!! I love anything with avocado in it 🙂
That looks fantastic! I’m not one for most of those ingredients; I’m really rather boring. But I might have to give it a shot with some tweaking!
That looks great,a must try. Hope we can share great receipes since we both love cooking.
